Extremes
"Extreme events" encompass the diverse research of the impacts of rapid changes such as climate shifts, fire , floods, or earth quakes, and their significance in Quaternary history.

- Dr. François Burgay (Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Basel): From ash to ice: how ice cores can trace extreme events
- Prof. Katrina Kremer (Institute of Geological Sciences, University of Bern): TBA
- Prof. Donat Fäh (Swiss Seismological Service, ETH Zurich): When a major earthquake strikes Switzerland
- Janis Polar (visual artist and cultural researcher): Flood, Storm, Heat, Fire: Images and Imaginations of Ecological Chaos and Catastrophe
- Dr. Andrej Maczkowski (Institute of Archaeological Sciences, University of Bern): Extreme SEP events enable single-year dating and potential global synchronisation of archaeological records
Poster session: We organize a poster session open to any topic related to Quaternary Research. Please bring your poster in the format A0 portrait. Poster award for the best poster presentation by young researchers. Please provide the title and author line with registration.
